A honeymoon, an anniversary, an engagement, or simply the two of you on holiday in Sicily. A couple photoshoot in Ortigia, the old island of Syracuse (Siracusa), is an hour walking together through baroque squares and narrow alleys down to the sea at sunset, while I photograph the real moments in between.

Where we shoot in Ortigia
We usually start in Piazza Duomo, among the baroque palaces and on the cathedral steps, then get lost in the alleys of the old town, pass by Fonte Aretusa with its papyrus and end on the seafront of Lungomare Alfeo or at the marina, when the sea turns gold. Ortigia is small: everything is a few minutes' walk apart, so an hour is enough for very different backgrounds.
The best time
Almost always golden hour, the hour before sunset: the stone of Ortigia turns warm and the light is soft on your faces. In summer, an early morning session is just as beautiful, with Piazza Duomo almost empty and the city still quiet.
No stiff poses
Most couples tell me the same thing: "we are not good in photos". You don't need to be. I give you simple things to do, walking, talking, holding each other, and photograph what happens in between. After ten minutes you forget the camera, and that is when the best photos arrive.
What to wear
Light, simple colours photograph beautifully against the stone of Ortigia and the blue of the sea: white, cream, beige, soft pastels. Avoid busy patterns and large logos, and choose outfits that go well together without being identical. Comfortable shoes help: the old town is all stone paving. With two hours there is time for an outfit change.

When do we get the photos? Within 24 to 48 hours, in a private online gallery, at full resolution and without watermarks, so you can share them while you are still on holiday.
What if it rains? If the weather ruins it we reschedule, and if your trip is too short to reschedule, you pay nothing.
